Part 1 of this series for child care providers who care for children with type 1 diabetes covered how developmental stages change diabetes management and your important role in supporting both the child and his or her parents. This article provides an overview of the diabetes management tasks you, as the child care provider, may be required to provide as you care for children with diabetes. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide you with the education and resources you need to care for their child. However, the more familiar you are with the common management tasks, the better prepared you will be to care for a child with diabetes.
